چکیده

Abstract Nanohardness and Effective Elastic Moduli were measured for pulsed-Gas Tungsten Arc Welded Ti-5Al-2.5Sn alloy using autogenous mode through nanoindentation atomic force microscopy. Experiments conducted a Berkovich tip on nanoindentor with elliptical pile ups an Atomic Force Microscope. effective elastic moduli calculated in the base metal, heat affected zone fusion of weldments different approaches namely Oliver–Pharr method, AFM analysis work indentation. A significant difference was observed nanomechanical response these which attributed to up morphology nano indents. The presence residual stress also significantly influenced nanohardness profile across weld joint. present research suggested that indentation is most suitable assessment properties among three techniques studied this investigation.

Nanomechanical characterization of polymer using atomic force microscopy and nanoindentation

The nanomechanical characteristics of polycarbonate (PC) polymer were investigated by atomic force microscope (AFM) and nanoindentation. Scratching, wear properties, hardness and Young’s modulus were obtained. The relationships between scribing feed and speed, surface depth and roughness and applied load were also investigated. The results indicated that as the applied load was increased, the f...

Nanotribological and nanomechanical properties of skin with and without cream treatment using atomic force microscopy and nanoindentation.

Various beauty care products involve surface interaction between the product and the skin surface they are applied to. Friction, adhesion and wear during sliding between the treated surface and the rubbing surfaces need to be optimized. Skin cream is used to improve skin health and create a smooth, soft, and flexible surface with moist perception by altering the surface roughness, friction, adh...

Mapping of elasticity and damping in an α + β titanium alloy through atomic force acoustic microscopy

The distribution of elastic stiffness and damping of individual phases in an α + β titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) measured by using atomic force acoustic microscopy (AFAM) is reported in the present study. The real and imaginary parts of the contact stiffness k (*) are obtained from the contact-resonance spectra and by using these two quantities, the maps of local elastic stiffness and the damping ...

Sensitivity Analysis of Frequency Response of Atomic Force Microscopy in Liquid Environment on Cantilever's Geometrical Parameters

In this paper, the non-linear dynamic response of rectangular atomic force microscopy in tapping mode is considered. The effect of cantilever’s geometrical parameters (e.g., cantilever length, width, thickness, tip length and the angle between the cantilever and the sample's surface in liquid environment has been studied by taking into account the interaction forces. Results indicate that the r...

Surface Evaluation of Resin Zein Films Containing Sugar Plasticizers by Permeability and Atomic Force Microscopy Analysis

Zein is one of the best biopolymer for edible film making and sugars are natural plasticizers for biopolymers. In this research, sugars (fructose, galactose and glucose) at three levels (0.5, 0.7, 1 g/g of zein) were used as plasticizers for zein protein films and their water vapor permeability (WVP), oxygen permeability (OP) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) topography were studied. The p...
